What To Do

Shopping

Grand Marais Shopping

Find something a little different in Grand Marais. The shops are locally owned with selections to match the whim of the owner and their desire to showcase uncommon wares. Most of the shops are on the same street as East Bay Suites, the avenues that connect to Highway 61, and along Highway 61 with a few outlying shops. Nothing is more than a five minute drive and most is less than a five minute walk.

Only in Grand Marais

Jonyes Ben Franklin

This is our department store. Check it out. You’ll find an excellent line of quality shoes, games, toothpaste, the socks you forgot to pack, cards, books, classic souvenirs, and a fabulous kids section of paddle balls, whoopee cushions, bubbles, jacks and rubber snakes.

Lake Superior Trading Post

This is our other department store. Peruse gorgeous wool sweaters, leather handbags, engineered outerwear, imported home décor, uncommon jewelry, outdoor gear, and a fabulous book selection.

The best little bookstore ever. It’s impossible to find only one book. Conveniently located across the street. Check the chalkboard for book signings, author talks and full moon readings.
