Parade
No need to grab a lawn chair for this parade, it's short and sweet. Walk one block west from East Bay Suites to Broadway and pick a viewing spot. The parade starts promptly at 6:00 pm and travels down Broadway turning west right where you are located. By 6:15 pm the parade is over, giving you just the right amount of time to have dinner before ambling down to Harbor Park.
Music & Fun
An hour or so after the parade, head over to Harbor Park and see what's going on. Typically a band is playing, patriotic readings are given, and a few vendors are selling mini-donuts, kettle corn and glow-in-the-dark jewelry.
Fireworks
The big show starts after dusk, which is about 9:30pm, with fireworks shot off from the southwest corner of the harbor. Excellent viewing is available all along Artists' Point, the cobblestone beachfront, and in Harbor Park. Our viewing recommendation; avoid a spot under a street light and bring a jacket. It's July, but it can be chilly at the edge of the lake.
